The General Aviation Council of Hawaii, Inc.
- (1) further aviation safety within the State of Hawaii
- (2) represent and express the interest of the general aviation (GA) community in Hawaii in dealings with Federal, State and Local officials
- (3) foster the growth, education, safety and understanding of GA activities
- (4) communicate with GACH members and others on interests to the GA community
- (5) sponsor or assist in fly-ins, air shows, educational and safety seminars, classes and other general aviation activities designed to improve pilot proficiency and enjoyment and to facilitate aviation education
- (6) carry out any other function or activity permitted by law so long as it does not adversely impact the non-profit or tax exempt status to GACH
GACH is open to all aviators from Hawaii who are Federal Aviation Regulated Part 91, 135, 141 operators or who are Student Pilots, Sport Pilots, Recreational Pilots, Private Pilots, Commercial Pilots, Air Transport Pilots, or Certified Flight Instructors, and fly airplanes, rotorcraft, gliders, lighter-than-air, power parachute, weight-shift-control aircraft, and power-lift aircraft or who support aviation in Hawaii.

Director, President (2018)
Based on Oahu. Former owner of Moore Air, a 141 Flight School, former Chief Pilot, Check Airman and Instructor at Pacific Air Charters, former Pilot, Instructor and Check Airman at Corporate Air, a FedEx feeder, and former Chief Instructor at Galvin Flight Services Hawaii and lecturer at Honolulu Community College’s Commercial Aviation Program. Rob is on the Board of Directors at the Pacific Aviation Museum at Pearl Harbor and still flight instructs in his Be95A.Rob was recognized by the FAA as the Outstanding Safety Counselor for the FAA Western Region in 1998 and the Outstanding CFI for Hawaii in 2000. Director, Governmental Liaison (2017)
From Oahu, Bill Plum started flying in 1974 and holds a private pilot certificate, single engine land. Bill also owns a C-172. Bill is an attorney in private practice focusing on civil matters and civil litigation and has assisted with several GACH legal issues.

Based on Oahu, Don Machado, Jr. is a 1983 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He then received a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1986. For nearly 17 years, he has worked as a captain on a Challenger jet based in Hawaii offering on demand charters to worldwide destinations. In addition, he operates a law practice specializing in aviation law and serves as an AOPA certified attorney.

Editor and Communications Director (2019)
Based on Oahu. Bill grew up in Hawaii, but learned to fly in Northern California, where he flew dozens of Young Eagles for the EAA, and visited much of the lower 48 in his Saratoga. Bill currently flies an SR-20.
Robert Van Wagoner
Based on Maui. Fly part time for Blue Hawaiian Helicopters between the Islands in a C-206. Avid airplane homebuilder. Started building a Lancair 360 in 1988 and first flight was Oct of 1992. Won Best Homebuilt and Best Composite at 1994 Rocky Mtn EAA flyin and Best of Show at Utah State. Comm-SEL, SES, IA.
