Support the Honolulu City Council Resolution to encourage the DOTA to save Dillingham Airfield

A City Council Resolution to encourage the DOTA to save Kawaihapai Airfield, otherwise known as Dillingham Airfield will be heard on Tuesday January 12, 2021 at 9:00 am.  Get everyone you know and who supports the continued operation of the airfield to contact their council member and send in testimony to the council in general in support of this resolution.

Resolution 21-7 Requesting the State Department of Transportation to Work with Interested Parties to Ensure the Continuance of General Aviation at Kawaihapai (Dillingham) Airfield

Of course, the support does not have to be just from pilots.  All citizens, including neighbors and friends of pilots who agree with the Resolution can also submit testimony.

The closure of this valuable resource would do irreparable harm to the communities that depend on the airfield for income, training, and recreation. The airfield plays an important role in tourism and has demonstrably generated substantial revenue for the State.

This resolution is just the first step in what may become a long and difficult path to saving Dillingham Airfield. Please make your opinion known.
